ANIMALS OF AMBERGRIS

Ambergris differs from the other cayes of Belize in that it was once a peninsula, and even now only a small channel separates us from mainland Mexico. Because of this, we have a rich and exciting ecosystem full of wildlife not found on the other cayes. The thousands of acres of jungle on the north side in particular are home to hundreds of different mammals, birds, and reptiles, making this island truly unique.

This list is a work in progress so please bare with us as it is updated to completion.
